Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a correspondent, she will cover everything including NASA's new Space Force to commercial space business and the emergence of space tourism. Kristin has a background in the space sector as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years, she has covered space policies under Biden and Trump administrations for FOX News. In that period, she also covered impeachment trials for the president and the presdiential 2020 campaign and two attempts by the administration to stop the coronavirus pandemic. Former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Prior to joining the network in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her experience behind the camera in 2014. Field Mouse Films specialized in making documentary films for corporate clients including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her entire family, which includes their daughter, who is three years old.
